Construction/Development Controller for our prominent Westchester based Real
Estate client.
Primary
Responsibilities:
- Responsible
for all aspects of cost accounting, financial reporting and construction
accounting
- Oversee
the preparation of all financial statements, financial audits, bank
reconciliations and internal controls
- Supervise project
accounting functions including cost management and tracking payment
requisitions
- Manage accounting
department, overseeing journal entries, general ledger and balance sheets
- Coordinate
month-end and year end closing process
- Perform
budget projections and analysis
- Oversee
monthly project management reports
- Liaise
with third party vendors and suppliers
- Prepare all
construction draws, job costing, management and general ledger reporting
- Maintain
internal accounting policies and procedures and controls
- Interface with
external tax accountants and auditor
- Hire,
supervise and train staff
Requirements:
- 5-10+
years of construction/development accounting experience
- Ability
to work independently and effectively prioritize assignments
- Strong
interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
- Proven
experience with construction accounting software
- Excellent
computer and problem solving skills
- Advanced
proficiency with Timberline preferred
- BS
degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
